Closing intent and short event windows in Q4
Event products get exposure only for their window, while Meta Ads retargeting closes baskets abandoned just before purchase.

Closing intent and short event windows
Separate handling of event products: gift, promo, seasonal push
What we do
We build a layer of products activated only for specific windows: Black Week, St Nicholas, gifting, December, New Year's Eve.
The segment includes products that:
- are assigned to the event's categories or packs
- have approved availability for the period
- have a confirmed promo or other offer advantage
- have stock and logistics for the demand spike
- make sense in the window: gift, bundle, deal
- ideally also carry a quality signal: revenue, margin, add to cart
Why
In Q4 the offer breaks into short windows. Without a separate layer event products mix with year-round ones and budget is hard to steer.
Typical custom labels
gift_setblackweek_pushholiday_pushsylwester_push
Closing intent: micro-conversion retargeting
What we do
We handle products with high add to cart, view content or wishlist but a weak purchase ratio separately.
The layer includes products that:
- draw above-average interest
- have a low purchase ratio versus add to cart / views
- are available with a correct offer
- aren't blocked by missing stock, a wrong price or a feed error
Why
Abandoned intent is valuable in Q4: reaching an almost-decided customer again costs less than new cold traffic.

Common questions
How do I handle St Nicholas and New Year's Eve products in the feed?
Give them a separate custom label active only in that window, e.g. holiday_push or sylwester_push. Data Octopus switches the label on and off by dates and availability, so the product leaves the campaign after the event.
What are micro-conversions in a product feed context?
Interest signals before purchase: product views, add to cart, wishlist. Data Octopus pulls them from GA4 and highlights products with high interest and low sales.
When does Meta Ads retargeting make most sense in Q4?
In the short November and December windows, when the user is close to buying. Closing existing intent is usually cheaper than acquiring a new audience.
Why exclude products with price or stock errors from retargeting?
Because the low purchase ratio then comes from an offer problem, not customer hesitation. Ads won't fix it and only burn budget.
