Your most valuable customers stop coming back
Use RFM segmentation and a customer-list feed to activate audiences in Google Ads and Meta Ads. This framework uses the Clients model and Customer Match rather than a custom label in the product feed.

Why does it matter?
- Protect a valuable customer base
Frequent, high-spending customers make an important contribution to revenue. Without retention activity, they are more likely to leave.
- Differentiate your audiences
Not every customer has the same potential. RFM segmentation helps select groups using their purchase history.
- Tailor your messaging
A customer list supports a dedicated win-back campaign. Messaging can reflect previously purchased categories or brands.
How to diagnose the problem?
You need the Clients model connected to your store platform through an API.
- 1
Review RFM segments in Models → Clients.
- 2
Compare total netto revenue, avg order netto revenue and orders to select the most valuable segments.
- 3
Filter customer segment, for example slipping champions, and save it using create view.
Action strategy
- APrepare an audience list
In Strategies, create a Customer Match list from the saved Clients view. Password-protect its URL before passing it to the advertising platform.
- BLaunch an appropriate campaign
Once processed, use the list for targeting or as an audience signal, depending on the platform and campaign type. For reactivation, prepare Demand Gen messaging that encourages customers to return.
What to measure?
- Inactive segment size
Check whether customers leave the selected segment and return to active groups.
- Campaign purchases
Monitor direct purchases generated by the reactivation campaign.
- Support for other campaigns
Analyze the activity's contribution to return visits and assisted purchases.
Connecting RFM with audience lists bases retention on customer value and purchase history rather than sending the same message to the entire database.

Frequently asked questions
Are Customer Match and custom labels the same?
No. Customer Match concerns audiences, while custom labels segment products in a catalog. In Data Octopus, this framework uses the Clients model rather than product labels.
Does a smaller list always mean successful reactivation?
No. Its size can also change because of data updates or segmentation rules. In Data Octopus, check movement into active segments and confirm it with purchases.
Why is my customer list not available in a campaign yet?
Creating a list in Data Octopus does not complete processing on the advertising platform. Check import status, audience matching and the platform's requirements.
Can a list be split by previously purchased brands?
Yes. Purchase data can help tailor groups and messaging to customer interests. In Data Octopus, first check the available Clients data and then prepare the appropriate view.
