Field description
Segment your products based on their sales performance in Google Ads Shopping ads and data from Google Analytics 4.
Includes 4 labels: GAdsSellers, GA4Sellers, NoPurchaseCost, and NoPurchaseNoCost.
This allows you to combine revenue and advertising cost data from Google Ads and Google Analytics 4, identify products more effectively, and manage their optimization strategy.
Detailed description
- GAdsSellers: A label assigned to products that generated revenue through Google Ads Shopping ads (identified by gads_netto_conversions_value > 0).
- GA4Sellers: A label assigned to products that generated revenue from any sources identified by Google Analytics 4 (identified by ga4_item_netto_revenue > 0).
- NoPurchaseCost: Assigned to products for which advertising spend was incurred (identified by gads_netto_costs > 0), but no purchases were recorded.
- NoPurchaseNoCost: Assigned to products that incurred no costs in Google Ads Shopping ads (identified by gads_netto_costs = 0) and generated no sales.
How can I use this?
You can assign this field as a custom label in your product feed. Here are some practical uses:
- Use the NoPurchaseCost label to find products that incur costs without generating revenue—consider optimizing them or excluding them from paid campaigns.
- Analyze products with the GA4Sellers label that do not have the GAdsSellers label to identify potential growth opportunities in Google Ads. There may be valuable products that are not getting enough exposure in Google Ads Shopping ads or on marketplaces where you sell.
- NoPurchaseNoCost products are products that are not getting exposure in your Google Ads Shopping ads. If any of these products are strategically important to you because of factors such as brand, price, margin, or stock levels, it may be worth moving them to a separate campaign.
- Products that sell successfully through Google Ads Shopping ads may perform similarly in other advertising systems. Consider whether running such a test would be worthwhile.
Remember to monitor and update these labels regularly to help you continually optimize your campaigns and improve the efficiency of your advertising spend.
